- Zero zero: our success was actually the result of our mentality. And that's the broader point: don't let your success turn into complacency. Because right after a small success is when you are the most vulnerable to complacency and bad results.
- Forcing functions: usually their ideas are good enough, but they might not get to the point where they just jump in head-first because they don't have a forcing function -- they essentially get stuck in limbo.
- A hack for VC's: I'd work my hardest to seek out those repeat responses and build those relationships
- Killer instinct: instead of measuring success relative to the general population, or a peer group, the great ones measure success relative to their potential and abilities.
- The importance of long term thinking: when making any decision of consequence, seriously consider the medium and long term implications of your choice. You'll have a major leg up on most people for that consideration alone.
- What's your pitching wedge: there are equivalents for a pitching wedge in life. Think of it as having a go-to move.
- Going too fast: if you know who you are, and you believe in what you're capable of, then you don't need to listen to other people telling you that you're doing things too quickly or too slowly.
